Daycare Owner Shoots Her Husband Who Allegedly Molesting Children At The Center
A woman is facing charges after she shot her husband in a hotel room in Washington D.C. Thursday evening after learning he was accused of molesting children at her daycare.
Police arrived at the room around 7:40 p.m. at the Mandarin Oriental after responding to a call about a man shot on the 8th floor. The woman, identified as 50-year-old Shanteari Weems, didn’t allow officers to enter the room and told them she would shoot herself if they attempted to come in. During the confrontation, officers asked Weems if there was a shooting victim in her room, and she replied, “he’s a child molester.” The male shooting victim said he was shot in the leg after police detained Weems.
Weems explained to investigators that she and her husband had been married for five years and lived together in Baltimore. She learned about the molestation accusations against her husband after several children from her daycare, Lil Kidz Kastle, told her he was molesting them. Weems reported her husband to the authorities in Baltimore. Her husband is a retired Baltimore City police officer.
