The Texas Shooter’s Facebook Account Was Just Deleted (But Not Before We Saved the Photos)

The suspect behind the mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, TX on Sunday was identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, a 26-year old Air Force veteran.

The shooting led to at least 20 deaths and many more injured, and witnesses said Kelley showed up at the church in “full gear” Sunday morning and that the incident was overwithin seconds. The incident is one of the deadliest mass shootings in modern U.S. history.

A now-deleted Facebook profile believed to be linked to Kelley — who was killed after a police chase into a neighboring county in the aftermath of the attack, though it’s not clear if he killed himself or was killed by police — featured a photo of an AR-15 style rifle with the caption, “she’s a bad bitch.” The photo was posted days before the shooting. Public records reveal that Kelley was also married and he is pictured alongside a baby in his Facebook profile picture.

Kelley, of New Braunfels, TX — a San Antonio suburb — served in the Air Force from 2009-2013 and was a summer Bible study teacher for a short time after, his LinkedIn profile shows.

It’s been reported that Kelley’s now-deleted social media was being “scrubbed” by authorities, though this is unconfirmed.

Social media is filled with screenshots purported to be from Kelley’s now-deleted Facebook profile, though some of that information may have come from profiles of others with the same name in the San Antonia area.
